As she squinted her eyes and shared that she’d been working hard on her impression, a pouting Gigi said: “I gotta get her face right”.
With a fake Eastern European accent, Gigi continued: “I love my husband, President Barack Obama. And our children Sasha and Malia”.

The gag, which was a reference to accusations that Melania had ripped off a speech by Michelle Obama earlier this year, draw a few chuckles at the Microsoft Theatre venue.
But she’s being savaged on social media for her “racist” impression.

“I usually like Gigi but what is going on tonight… another fan tweeted.
“Gigi is trying too hard to be funny,” another added.
One angry Facebook user wrote: “Gigi Hadid’s joke about Malaina Turmp on the American Musics Award was very classless and very tacky! (sic)”
While another furious Trump supporter added: “Listen you disgusting s***. I don’t appreciate you bashing my president to be.”
A parody Melania Trump account tweeted: “Thank you Gigi Hadid for doing a spot on impression of me, i will be plagiarising it AMAs”.
Some of the biggest names in music were at the star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles, where the award-winners are chosen by the public.
