But, heartbreaks aside, we got to see some beautifully crafted fineries donned by these celebrities as they walked down the aisle. 1. Sophie Hunter’s Valentino Look
Benedict Cumberbatch broke millions of hearts when he announced his engagement to theater director Sophie Hunter in a tiny advertisement in the local newspaper. The February nuptials were a very low-key affair, attended only by family and friends of the couple. However, Valentino did give us a gimpse of the bride’s couture wedding gown alongside creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccolo, later on their Instagram before taking down the picture. Made of what was described as “ethereal silvery-gray lace” fabric, this piece of sheer magic has long sleeves and a high neck, and gently caresses Sophie’s baby bump.
2. Sofia Vergara’s Princess Look
Sofia Vergara, popular for playing Gloria on Modern Family is well known for her sense of humour, married Joe Manganiello in a glitzy affair attended by the whose-who of tinsel town. We marvelled at her custom-made Zuhair Murad gown as beau Joe serenaded her across the room. She looked like a princess right out of a Grimm’s fairytale.
3. Shahid And Mira’s Minimalist Look
Shahid Kapoor’s wedding was a long event spread across two cities, with Shahid and wife Mira flaunting some beautiful hues that could also be the choice of color for your big day! Mira did not deck up like a typical Indian bride. Oh no! She kept it minimal, classy, and summery. She wore her smile as her most precious jewelery. Although the wedding was quiet and kept traditionally Punjabi, the reception in Mumbai was the quite the opposite – packed with glitz, glamour, and panache.
4. Soha Ali Khan’s Royal Look
It’s not every day you get wind of a royalty marrying, do you? With brother Saif marrying in 2012, we could presumably say that another royal wedding was due, and Soha did not disappoint us. Draped in a beautiful gold dusted lehenga from Sabyasachi’s best, Soha married her dapper looking fiancé and best friend, Kunal Khemu.
5. Andy Murray & Kim Sear’s Scottish Look
Our favorite British bet for Wimbledon got married in Dunblane, Scotland. Dressed in an impeccable Jenny Packham white gown, Kim looked stunning! Her gown had a vintage feel, with hand-beaded with Swarovski crystals on the sleeves and the waistband. More astonishingly beautiful was her crystal Kalmi headdress she wore.
