“Each year on Better Homes And Gardens, we try to host Christmas at one of the presenters’ homes,” the 42-year-old tells New Idea.

“We figure we are welcomed into people’s homes and gardens all year round, so it’s nice to let people see a window into our own spaces.”

Joh admits she and husband Todd Huggins, 42, “love to entertain and I love to cook!” – so it was a pleasure to host her co-stars for the televised special.

With two new additions to the Better Homes family this year – 2014 House Rules winner Adam Dovile and former Home and Away star Demi Harman – it was a full house as the nine-strong group sat down together for an early Christmas feast.

“I think we are as happy as we’ve ever been. The show has really evolved this year. We feel like the actual product is better than it’s ever been,” adds Joh.

Dr Harry has to be at the top of his game for the series finale when Joh’s hubby Todd takes him aside to help figure out why Snowy, one of Joh’s two dogs, is so yappy.

New kid on the block Adam also has his work cut out making the ultimate DIY wine holder and ultimate slip n’ slide, while Karen Martini shares a cracker of a prawn recipe.

Demi Harman also shows us a stylish modern alternative to the traditional Christmas tree, and Tara Dennis demonstrates a great new way to use fairy lights, guaranteed to make your house the best dressed in the neighbourhood.
