And the winner of the most adorable arrival prize at the 2017 Oscars is [insert drum-roll here]…eight-year-old Lion star Sunny Pawar!

Little Sunny arrived at a rain-soaked Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles alongside proud dad, beaming from ear-to-ear in his sharp suit and colourful sneakers.

Why July is a Goldmine for Creators

With the world’s entertainment media trained on him, an undaunted Sunny took full advantage of his time in the spotlight, hamming it up for photographers by adjusting his black bow tie and flashing a peace sign.

Accompanied by his translator – Hindi is his first language, although he’s picking up English fast! – he tried to find the words to describe how he was feeling.

“He’s excited and he feels great about it to be here,” his translator shared with E! News.

Sunny, who also walked the red carpet at the recent Grammys, shared that he had already talked to some of his co-stars about some of the fun that awaits him.

While he’s earned a huge fan base for his role as Saroo Brierley, Sunny has hopes of obtaining more parts on the big screen. In fact, he wouldn’t mind playing a superhero.

“[My favorite movie] is this Bollywood movie called Krrish and the star Hrithik Roshan is my favorite,” he previously shared with People. “That’s a superhero movie so hopefully someday I will be able to play a superhero.”

Lion is nominated for six Academy Awards, including best Supporting Actor and Actress for Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman.

The film was based on Tasmanian-raised Saroo’s book, A Long Way Home, which tells the story of how he was separated from his family in India, adopted by an Australian family, and reconnected with his birth mother 25 years later.

The real-life Saroo and his Aussie mum Sue Brierley also walked the carpet at the 89th Academy Awards.
