We found out about the Netflix TV series Yellowstone from Kath, a friend who was posting photos of cute cowboys and horses on Instagram. When we finally got settled in to watch the tv show, we soon found out why this was a number one hit on American cable.
Yellowstone follows the Dutton family led by John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) and their fight to keep the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Along the way, they have to keep up with shifting alliances and unsolved crimes and murders.
Their neighbours all want a piece of their land, from an expanding town and greedy wealthy developers to an Indian reservation and America’s first national park.

If you love cowboy fashion, then look no further than these all-American brands.
Greeley Hat Works created hats for many of the cast members of Yellowstone. Kevin Costner’s character John Dutton wears a natural body Ranch hat with a classic Reiner crease and braided hatband. It is made by hand in the USA.
Another American hatmaker to shortlist would be Knudsen Hat Company which have a great range of cowboy and movie-inspired hats, including 1883, Clint Eastwood, Steve McQueen and Tom Selleck films.
