If you’re working from home or you’re in self isolation, you may be running low on your favourite series on Netflix and Stan by now. So in a bid to brighten up your coronavirus-filled days, Disney+ has released Frozen 2 three months early.

Released here in Australia yesterday, if you have Disney+ you can watch it right now. And if you’re not particularly a huge Disney fan – but you have a soft spot for Elsa and Anna – then you can subscribe to Disney+ for 7-days free and watch it then. Hey, that would get you through half of your self-isolation period! Just head over to the Disney Plus site and sign up for the free trial.

Watch Frozen 2 on Disney+ TV – it’s been released early to help with corona-induced boredom.

This is a bit of a gift for everyone – children and those of us who are young at heart. But the trick is, take a look around the Disney+ offerings and if the new Star Wars TV series The Mandalorian and other Disney action isn’t really your cup of tea, then just make sure you cancel your 7-day free trial in time.

Why has the Frozen movies captured our hearts so much?

You’ve probably all heard how the first movie in the series, Frozen, was the highest-earning animated film of all time. Well, it’s not any more because Frozen 2 took over that title when it raked in a staggering $1.4 billion at the box office after it was released in November of last year.

Even if you’re not a Disney princess fan, it’s clearly worth a watch if you’re stuck in isolation and want a bit of cheering up.

As Disney CEO Bob Chapek said about the early release on TV: “Frozen 2 has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family, messages that are incredibly relevant during this time, and we are pleased to be able to share this heartwarming story early with our Disney+ subscribers to enjoy at home on any device.”

What happens in Frozen 2?

Frozen 2 reunites the cast and creative team from the Academy Award winning 2013 film Frozen, including actors Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, who reprise their roles, as well as directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee.

The sequel explores the question – why was Elsa born with magical powers? The answer is calling her and threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she sets off on a dangerous journey. In Frozen, Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In Frozen 2, she has to hope they are enough. Stay tuned…
