This month’s June Full Moon in Sagittarius is calling us to break free of the mundane and embrace something bigger, bolder and more meaningful – just as the winter chill urges us to slow down and reflect, according to a leading Australian intuitive astrologer and psychic.

Rose Smith says the Sagittarius Full Moon on Wednesday (June 11th) will offer us a boost of optimism, adventure and personal insight. But with the Winter Solstice just days later, there’s a deeper internal message about balance, restoration, and nurturing our inner world.

“June’s Full Moon is about expansion, movement and adventure – it’s that ‘live life large’ feeling,” said Ms Smith.

“But with the Winter Solstice approaching, we’re also being asked to slow down, rest, and reflect. It’s a real tug-of-war between external excitement and internal nurturing.”

Sagittarius, the zodiac’s eternal explorer, governs travel, higher learning, philosophy, and spirituality – all of which may take centre stage this month.

“People could feel an urge to take risks, book spontaneous travel, explore deeper meaning in their lives, or finally act on a vision they’ve being holding on to,” said Ms Smith.

“Full Moons are always emotional, and with Sagittarius involved, it’s like emotional fireworks.”

“You might be craving wide open spaces or the buzz of a crowd – or both. Sagittarius doesn’t do anything by halves.”

Ms Smith, who also runs the largest psychic network based in the southern hemisphere, Absolute Soul Secrets, said the Sagittarius Full Moon’s influence is intensified by Jupiter, its ruling planet.

“Jupiter is traditionally associated with luck, wisdom and protection… it’s like a cosmic guardian – even scientists have said it protects Earth by pulling in space debris,” she said.

“So, this Full Moon could be quite fortunate. People might feel drawn to unconventional experiences, or to broaden their horizons through learning, different cultures, or spiritual inquiry.”

This month’s Full Moon is also known as the Strawberry Moon in the northern hemisphere, named by Native American tribes as it marked the time to harvest ripening wild strawberries.

“Spiritually, it represents abundance, sweetness and celebrating the fruits of labour,” said Ms Smith.

And there’s another cosmic twist this month – Jupiter has recently moved into Cancer, where it will stay until June 2026.

“This signals that some of the grand adventures or wisdom people are looking for could actually be found closer to home,” said Ms Smith.

“Cancer is about family, nurturing and home life – so we might start to value the little things more, like family meals, creating comfort in our homes, or spending quality time with loved ones.”

Ms Smith warns, however, that this energetic mix can also bring tension, especially around the Solstice.

“Winter Solstice is the shortest and darkest day of the year. It’s nature’s cue to rest, eat nourishing food like stews and soups, and get more sleep,” she said.

“But Sagittarius wants us to go, go, go. So, you could feel a bit conflicted – the key is to stimulate your mind with things like travel documentaries or philosophical conversations, while giving your body the rest it needs.”

She also notes that Mutable signs – Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces – are likely to feel this Full Moon more intensely.

Meanwhile, Earth signs like Taurus and Virgo may feel a strong pull from Capricorn’s stabilising influence during this time.

“There’s a need to work with the seasons, not against them,” said Ms Smith.

“Let the Sagittarius energy open your mind but listen to Cancer’s wisdom too – find joy in stillness, laughter in the quiet, and know that even during darker days, light and movement are on their way.”

When can you see this month’s Full Moon in Sagittarius & when is Winter Solstice?

The Full Moon will be reaching its peak on Wednesday, June 11th June at 5.43pm AEST, while the Winter Solstice occurs on Friday, June 21st at 12.41pm AEST.
