Mel B put her body, confidence and personal vices on the public line when she signed up to be a Jenny Craig Celebrity Ambassador. But rather than flout unachievable health plans, the X-Factor judge became a role model that resonated with Australian women struggling to maintain a healthy weight. Here, she reveals her food weaknesses, the strategies she uses to maintain a healthy fitness regime, and how the support she received was pivotal in her quest to get back to a healthy weight.

Here, Mel shares some of her tips and strategies…

“Going for a hike with my friends or my family. I get the added bonus of working out and getting to spend quality time with people I love!”

Next fitness goal?

“My next goal is to get more definition in my thighs. It’s always been the hardest to achieve for me.”

Best snack from Jenny Craig to curb cravings?

“Lately I have been carrying a packet of the dry roasted nuts on me all the time. They are a quick snack that helps to curb any cravings, while giving you a much needed boost of protein.”

If you are feeling like a naughty treat, what is your healthy option that you go for?

“70% dark chocolate or the Jenny Craig Choc Nut Bar.”

My last meal would be…

“A proper British Sunday Roast with all the trimmings, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, everything. Every once in a while it’s good to give yourself a bit of a cheat day. It allows you to follow a regimen, but not feel like you’re missing out and subsequently falling off the wagon.”

Who has the best body in showbiz?

“Hmm that’s a tough one, right now I’d have to say J-Lo. Her body is fierce!”

Favourite song to work out to right now?

“Anything by Iggy Azalea or my classic drum and bass by Goldie, his first album.”

The most awkward thing that’s ever happened to you in a gym is…

“I got asked for a picture with a fan after I had a really intense workout. I was all sweaty and felt bad for sweating on her! So embarrassing!”

What is your favourite aspect about the Jenny Craig program?

“The support! My consultant Michelle, my ‘Jenny’, was so supportive and really kept me on track and accountable. I don’t think I could have done it without her.”

Exercise in the morning or night?

“I prefer morning. When I work out in the morning, it gives me this boost of energy like I can take on the world. Then again a night work out is a great way to get out your frustrations of the day and tire yourself out for bed.”

Sweet or savoury?

“Definitely savoury.”

Favourite Jenny Craig meal?

“Right now, I’d have to say the crumbed fish and wedges. It almost feels like I am having a bit of cheat day.”

Check out Jenny Craig for more information on their programs.
