With Mardi Gras season here and Sydney celebrating its 42nd annual Mardi Gras, it’s the perfect time to look at some of the world’s best and most exciting cities to celebrate Pride. And since Pride is celebrated year-long, you can visit these places and celebrate two, three times if you like!

New York

New York, Pride

Held on the 28th of June at the very start of Summer, New York doesn’t celebrate bright discretely and rightly so. Witness the march (Pride Parade), arguably the best-known event of NYC Pride. Starting at midday on 5th Avenue watch on as the explosion of colour march all the way 7th Avenue. You can also go see PrideFest – the street festival where you’ll find vendors, entertainment and activities all celebrating equality. Or you can participate in Pride Island with DJs and live music.

Held a day before New York, London’s Pride celebrations commence on the 27th of June. Going into its 51st year, London Pride boasts one of the UK’s biggest celebrations. From cultural and political art scenes to the famed parade, you’re certain to feel the love in the heart of London.
