From Corporate Cogs to Eco-Entrepreneurs. The Clean Collective is a company with conscience; a retail platform bringing together information and solutions to creating a healthy, eco-friendly lifestyle all in one spot. Charlie Thompson and Georgia Lawson and their team are on a zero-waste mission to create a toxin-and-plastic-free Earth.  So are they Game Changers? Watch our Game Changers video with TV presenter Edwina Bartholomew to find out.

In less than two years from launch, The Clean Collective has become Australia’s fastest growing retailer and publisher for healthy, eco-friendly living. What’s more their business is having a huge positive impact on the environment. In the last 12 months alone, the company has prevented approximately 2M litres of toxic chemical products being consumed, diverted 1.9M single-use items from landfill, planted 54K trees, and removed 6K pieces of plastic from the environment.

From the outset, co-founders Charlie Thompson, Georgia Lawson and business partner Charli Ferrand wanted to provide information and solutions about living sustainably in one place, both as a retailer and a publisher.

There’s plenty they can be proud about, but high on that list is the fact The Clean Collective maintains the country’s strictest chemical and material procurement policy.

Since The Clean Collective launched in 2017, they have built an incredible team to drive their mission forward. Apart from adopting the strictest ingredients and materials policy in the county; they have made a real impact on the environment with their war on waste, tree planting initiatives and through their support of the charity Take 3 For The Sea.

So how did it all begin? Back in 2013, The Clean Collective CEO Charlie Thompson experienced severe anxiety for the first time and this manifested itself physically as uncontrollable blackouts. After a conversation with a neurologist, she decided to take back control of her life.

She started by radically changing her consumption and lifestyle habits and, during her research, was surprised how hard it was to find information and products she needed all in one place. She also realised the ‘toxin-free’ solutions that were stocked on the shelves of some natural stores weren’t as toxin-free as they claimed to be.

Realising there was a gap in the market, she and her fellow cofounders Georgia and Charli decided to embark on creating something that was truly different; truly authentic and truly toxin-free and eco-friendly. And so The Clean Collective was born.

The Collective community of customers and partners have all helped to remove thousands of pieces of plastic from the ocean. They also helped offset Australia’s Christmas wrapping paper consumption through their tree-planting initiatives. Not bad given they have only just begun their eco-entrepreneurial journey.
