And, if an overseas escape with your crazy clan is off the cards (or, even If you’ve ever wanted to play tourist in your own city without spending like one!) , then the Park Regis City Centre Sydney might just be your next favourite getaway. Smack bang in the heart of the CBD – minutes from Hyde Park, within walking distance to Darling Harbour, Pitt Street Mall, and accessible to just about every train, light rail. metro and ferry you could want – the Park Regis is a brilliant base for a budget-friendly break, especially with mid-year breaks with your munchkins looming.

The entrance may be blink-and-you ‘ll-miss-it, but once inside, the 24-hour reception team is warm, check-in is smooth, and before long, you’ll be zipping up the lifts to your spacious suite.

And, in a city whose signature is showbox-sized stays, the ones at Park Regis City Centre are surprisingly roomy. There’s a generous lounge area, perfect for collapsing into after a big day exploring the city with the kids, plus a king bed and a little kitchenette equipped with the essentials: kettle, microwave, fridge, and a few teas and coffees to get you through. There’s no minibar – so no sneaky $8 chocolate bars to explain at check-out – but that actually works in your favour if you’re watching your budget. Just BYO snacks from the Woollies Metro around the corner, and stash them in the fridge.

The cleverly designed rooms give you plenty of space to relax, but the rooftop truly steals the show.

Park Regis City Centre Sydney

A wooden deck with a pool, the top of the Park Regis is a chilled-out little secret, with skyscrapers soaring above and some of the most unexpectedly epic panoramic views below. Sydney Tower is practically close enough to touch, and you can spot St Mary’s Cathedral, Woolloomooloo Wharf and everything in between. Bring a drink up at sunset, and you’ll have a five-star moment without the five-star price tag.

Sure, you won’t find a pillow menu or robes here – but what you do get is comfort, space, unbeatable location, and views you’ll be talking about long after the lift hits ground floor.

And, in a city where hotel rooms can cost more than your flight, the Park Regis City Centre is a brilliant base for families wanting a fun Sydney escape that won’t break the bank.
