For a while now The Bachelorette says her new love has been dropping hints about wanting a dog.
He was pining for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier to name Rocky, but she wanted something fluffier.
So Sam, 26, decided on a compromise – and surprised Sasha, 30, with a Maltese x Shih Tzu she named Rocky Mielczarek.
“I wasn’t sure how Sasha would react so I gave it his surname,” Sam told her 2Day FM co-host Rove McManus.
She even wrapped the cute little fella in a box and filmed Sasha’s reaction for her radio station’s Facebook page.
“I’m loving him,” said Sasha, when Sam and Rove rang in to check on Rocky’s progress.
“This morning he went on his nappy pad. It’s his first time this morning on the pad so I gave him treats and over fed him – don’t tell Sammy!”
Rove teased the pair that it was their biggest step yet having shared custody of a little baby pup.
But Sam brushed off his gibes: “Listening to it back [Sasha’s reaction] I love my boyfriend.”
A clearly smitten Sasha took to Instagram confirming he’d fallen in love with his new bundle of joy.
“I can’t believe it…I got home from work last night and this little fella was waiting for me.
“Thank you to my beautiful girlfriend. Introducing the newest member of the family…Rocky!”
