Australians, it’s time to supersize your burgers … and your bucket hat collection! McHappy Day is returning on Saturday, 15 November, and this year, it’s tastier – and trendier! – than ever. Ahead of the big day, McDonald’s has launched McHappy Time, marking the release of this year’s limited-edition merch range – all in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). It’s a chance to look good, feel good, and do good, all while adding a sprinkle of “Maccas” magic to your wardrobe.

Since 1991, McHappy Day has been more than just a reason to grab a Big Mac – it’s the largest annual fundraiser for RMHC. Over the decades, Aussies have raised more than $79 million, helping families with ill or injured children stay close to the care and support they need. In 2024 alone, donations provided over 37,000 nights of a home away from home for families, and this year, every fry, sock, and bucket hat counts even more.

This year’s McHappy Day merch is flipping fun and fashion in one. Crew-style Silly Socks ($6.50) featuring fan favourites Grimace and Hamburglar, and Bucket Hats ($3.95) with the full McDonaldland crew in two colourways, are now available nationwide. Not only are these pieces the perfect summer accessories, but 100% of profits go directly to RMHC. You could say it’s style with a side of heart – because helping families never goes out of fashion.

Amanda Nakad, Director of Marketing for McDonald’s Australia, says, “McHappy Day is one of the most special times of the year for our crew and customers – it’s when we unite to support a cause that touches the hearts of so many in our community. Every year, we’re inspired by the incredible generosity of our customers. So come on down to your local Macca’s, we have Silly Socks, Bucket Hats and Helping Hands in stock right now, and we’re ready for you to join the fun and help us support families in need through Ronald McDonald House Charities.”

Want to “ketchup” on even more ways to make a difference? You can purchase Helping Hands for $2, $10, or $50, colour them in, and display them proudly. Click, tap, and donate online at mchappyday.org.au/donate, or grab a Big Mac on McHappy Day – $2 from every burger sold goes directly to RMHC. That’s a smile with every bite – truly a burger with a bigger purpose.

RMHC programs are wide-reaching, offering everything from Ronald McDonald Houses close to hospitals to Family Rooms where parents can rest just steps from their child’s bedside. Learning Programs, Family Retreats, and Hospitality Carts bring comfort, care, and connection exactly when families need it most. Every dollar raised supports these vital services, turning each purchase into a life-changing moment for a family in need.

McHappy Day 2025

So, whether you rock socks on your feet, bucket hat on your head – every colourful piece spreads smiles like special sauce. And is proof that even the smallest gesture can have a huge impact. Think of it as serving happiness with a side of fun, one Grimace sock and Hamburglar hat at a time.

From now until Saturday, 15 November, Australians can step into McHappy Time and help turn everyday moments into acts of kindness. Look good, feel good, and do good – because happiness is contagious, and together we can spread it far and wide. Whether it’s a Big Mac bite, a colourful sock, or a playful bucket hat, this McHappy Day proves that family first is always the main course.
