Lady Gaga pours her heart and soul into what many on social media are already calling the best rendition of The Star Spangled Banner ever.
The 29-year-old singer, who is also scheduled to perform at the Grammy Awards and Oscars later in February, took to the field in a red-sequined, two-piece suit with matching eyeshadow.
Halfway through the performance, the Applause singer starts to tear up, but doesn’t let that stop her from delivering a stunning rendition.
Gaga earlier teased her fans with a preview of her patriotic Gucci heels, which were custom-made by the brand’s creative designer, Alessandro Michele.
“Red White and Sparkly Blue,” the American Horror Story: Hotel actress captioned the post on Instagram.
“Thank you Alessandro for my beautiful custom outfit tonight! #gucci”
Gaga says she’s wanted to sing the anthem at a major sporting event since she was a little girl.
As for her favorite rendition of the patriotic tune, Gaga gives her gong to Whitney Houston’s stirring performance at the 1991 Super Bowl.
“When I was little, I used to stand at the top of my staircase and sing along with her version,” she says.
“At home, the more I would sing it, the more my dad would say, ‘You’re getting pretty good, kid.’
“So to be here now and to sing it to America, it’s just wonderful.”
