So, what does a Beauty Editor do when she’s stumped? Turn to Aussie supermodel and entrepreneur Jessica Hart of course. Hart’s radiant complexion has appeared on the Victoria’s Secret Runway along with covers for Harper’s BAZAAR and Sports Illustrated, and now she’s bottled her secrets in a range of fuss free complexions products.

How would you describe the quintessential LUMA look?
Jess: Less is more! LUMA is all about celebrating your uniqueness, embracing your flaws and enhancing your natural beauty. It is really about achieving that luminous, glowing, no-makeup makeup look to make you feel empowered, confident and radiant.
What is your can’t-leave-home-without beauty must have?
My LUMA Illuminating Highlighter. When I discovered highlighter, I was like ‘this is the most amazing product in the world.’ It gives you a natural glow so you look a little fresh and not like you’re wearing too much makeup up. I always put it on the high points of my cheeks and brow bone.
Models are the true beauty insiders, exposed to countless products on the job. Have your experiences as a model informed the kind of products you wanted to see on the market?
Jess Hart: Definitely. I’ve worked with so many incredibly talented makeup artists throughout my career. I always get their opinions on products they use and how they would improve them if they could, what they are looking for. It definitely helped when it came to creating my own products.
You have been modelling since a young age, has your attitude to beauty changed over the years?
I think my beauty style has developed over the years, but I’ve always gravitated towards a more natural look.
Lastly, how will you be spending Australia day?
I’ll be in NYC, but I’ll definitely be celebrating Stateside!
