Okay, so there’s little to no chance of this dynamic duo picking up Brad Pitt hitch-hiking, nor do they intend to drive off a cliff at the end.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

But Pia Singer, 36, and Katie Price, 31, (below) are definitely channelling the same thirst for adventure that Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon’s characters had in the seminal 1991 female buddy movie Thelma and Louise.

The Sydney friends are joining 300 others in Adelaide on Saturday, September 24 for the start of the five-day Mystery Box Rally.

Held each year to raise vital funds for the Cancer Council, the rally involves teams of two racing over a mystery course in cars they only find out they’re driving the night before the flag drops.

Pia, who works for a software company, competed last year and had such a great time she immediately signed on for a return.

When law student Katie heard that her good friend Pia was back for more, she didn’t need any arm-twisting to be her co-driver in team ‘Double Trouble’.

The women love adventures and are always on the lookout for ways to support the community.

They have participated quite a few fundraising events for other causes in the past.

They planned to 4WD around the Kimberley and to paddle/swim across Lake Argyle but the dream was stopped by a concussion that Katie got last year.

The rally is another way for them to achieve their dreams of venturing into outback Australia together all whilst contributing to a great cause.

Pia says she learnt a few tricks in last year’s epic event, not the least of which was that you can’t flirt your way out of mechanical difficulties in the back of beyond.

“It might be possible to rely on roadside assistance or the batting of eyelids in populated areas, but when you’re kilometres from the next town you’re on your own, or in for a very, very long wait,” she laughs.

“Being a city slicker or disliking grease is no excuse not to know the mechanical basics: how to change a tyre; how to check tyre pressure; how to jump start a flat battery; checking and topping up the oil; refilling the wiper fluid and checking the radiator fluid.

“It’s also worth having some lifesavers to hand: WD-40, duct table, cable ties, cross bar tyre levers. You can hold a bumper bar onto a car with just duct tape!”
