Counsellor and life coach Antonia Taylor helps you overcome stress and limiting beliefs. Here, she explains how.

The kids are back at school and you can finally take a breath, or so you thought!

Before you know it, the to-do list grows again and you can feel your heart beat faster. All you want to do is reach for another coffee, but it seems that nothing can combat the fatigue you feel, it’s endless.

What if things became easier, instead of getting harder?

We want to give you the tools to help pull yourselves out of the overwhelm. We’re not superhuman, but we learned a few things along the way and want to share them with you.

As coaches, Mel Wood and I understand what it’s like to feel responsible for everything and everyone, ALL THE TIME.

Here are a couple of tips to help navigate from surviving to thriving in your life without some of the unwanted stress.

1) Do an audit of your body. Where are you holding your stress?

How do you think this is affecting you and what are your main triggers causing your overwhelm? Stress, as we know, can really affect our bodies so it is really important to be aware of those things that cause it.

Look at what you are saying to yourself in these overwhelming moments.

Your body responds to what it is being told. So change the language. Marissa Peer, the famous rapid transformational therapist, is a huge advocate of this. She said that if you have a big presentation to do and keep saying to yourself that you just don’t want to do this your body will find ways to get you there late or get sick to get you out of it. Alternatively, if you say wow I am looking forward to doing this presentation and it will help me get my promotion that I want your body will respond far more positively.

2) Change your perspective

Reduces those overwhelming feelings: Shifting the energy calming yourself down before addressing the overwhelm.
