In true Melbournian style, local creative genius Maree Coote, who is an artist, author of more than 10 books, designer and photographer, has released Alphabet City Melbourne for littlies.

The children’s picture book helps youngies (infants to age 5) to identify letter forms through a series of beautifully photographed shapes and letters spotted around Melbourne’s key attractions, architectural buildings, landmarks and other sites. It’s a fun visual treat and a cute educational tool (and an alternative to playing hide ‘n seek around the house!). “The city is alive with letter-forms, I see them everywhere I look,” says author Maree. “This new book helps little kids become more observant in their surroundings, more graphically literate, and of course to have fun while learning the alphabet!” Alphabet City Melbourne, $19.95, is available at Melbourne Style.
