Happy 2017 Melbourne Cup Day!

And congratulations to owner Lloyd Williams, trainer Joseph O’Brien and jockey Corey Brown for winning today’s $6.25m Emirates Melbourne Cup with Rekindling at Flemington Racecourse.

The fashion stakes will be high with the commencement of Myer Fashions on the Field, co-hosted by Australian model and TV presenter Nikki Phillips and fashion stylist and blogger Donny Gallela. Guest judges will include Myer Ambassadors Kris Smithand Jodi Anasta, Editor of ELLE magazine Justine Cullen, Myer milliner Viktoria Novak, Myer designer Irene Nicholas, Myer Fashions on the Field Ambassadors Rebecca Harding and Dalton Graham and Flemington Ambassador Georgia Connolly.

The exclusive Birdcage will play host to local and international celebrities including Myer Ambassador Jennifer Hawkins at Myer, actress Melissa George and supermodel Robyn Lawley at Kennedy, singer Natalie Imbruglia at Sensis, supermodel Shanina Shaik at G.H.Mumm, model Montana Cox and actress Zoe Ventoura at Lavazza, model Elyse Taylor and racing royalty Kate Waterhouse at Lexus, and footballer Jamie Elliott and model Steph Claire Smith at the new 1 Oliver St marquee.

General admission racegoers can enjoy Flemington’s fashion and entertainment destination, The Park. The 10,000 square metre precinct features Myer Fashions on the Field, virtual horseracing at TAB, the Flemingo Croquet Lawn at Bar Schweppes, along with a great lineup of music including the heavily Britpop influenced DMA’S (5.20pm-6.20pm), and festival favourite Tkay Maidza (4pm-5pm) headlining the stage flanked by a swag of local acts and DJs.

The Aviary by Lavazza will have coffee and cocktails on tap, the James Squire Caravan and the James Boag Premium Bar are the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing brew. Racegoers can also enjoy a crisp drop from Absolut @ The Park or sample the newly launched A’Tivo in the luxe A’tivo Bar. For those after other leisurely stops, racegoers can wind down with the Wolf Blass Bar.

Those who visit The Park will be spoilt for choice when it comes to refuelling between races – the assortment of sumptuous gastronomic pop-ups includes Dexter, 8bit, Hector’s Deli, Rice Paper Scissors, and 400 Gradi and Zero Gradi.

Pin & Win volunteers will be out in force selling Emirates Melbourne Cup pins in support of the VRC’s charity partner JDRF.
