Givenchy’s newest release is cut like a red-carpet garment. But it has no buttons, seams or hemlines.
Instead, Givenchy Le Rouge Satin Silk lipstick is the latest addition to the house’s Le Rouge family. And the brand’s pitch is that it’s been tailored the way a couture piece is. Think: clean lines, considered details, a finish designed to flatter. It’s a no-matte, satin lipstick for people who want colour with a little glow. And a formula that’s as concerned with how lips feel as how they look.
A satin finish that catches the light
The finish is naturally radiant: a silky, luminous satin rather than a high-shine gloss, with a texture that glides on with unparalleled comfort. The brand promises 12 hours of colour radiance and high definition. And its Color Grip Technology is designed to keep colour from feathering.
The skin care under the colour
The formula combines hyaluronic acid spheres with a tri-peptide complex. Givenchy says the hyaluronic acid delivers up to 48 hours of intense hydration, while the tri-peptides help lips look visibly smoother, plumper and more perfected over time. As with most beauty claims, the numbers come with fine print: the 12-hour result comes from a clinical test on 32 subjects. And the 48-hour hydration from an instrumental test on 30.

Shades, cut like a silk loom
The range spans 15 shades, each inspired by a couture silhouette and reflecting Givenchy’s couture heritage. Two are the standouts:
N05 George 5 is an almond terracotta nude, a tribute to the historic couture atelier on Avenue George V in Paris. It’s a very Givenchy address. Hubert de Givenchy moved his atelier to number 3 on the avenue in 1959, and the house is still there today.
P227 Pink Silhouette is a vibrant deep rose that echoes the purity of couture lines. Expect a pink with enough depth to look polished rather than sweet.
A very Givenchy label
The nod to the atelier fits a house that has always connected beauty and couture. Hubert de Givenchy founded the maison in 1952, and in 1957 it launched its first fragrance, L’Interdit, famously linked to his friendship with muse Audrey Hepburn. Le Rouge Satin Silk continues that tradition in a smaller, very portable form. The black case, stamped with the house’s 4G monogram, keeps the couture mood going.
Where to find it
