Bondi to Bronte’s Sculpture by the Sea, the world’s largest annual free-to-the-public outdoor sculpture exhibition, celebrates its 20th anniversary.

And to mark the special occasion, the spectacular Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk from October 20 to November 6, 2016, has more than 100 works by Australian and international artists being showcased along the two kilometre long temporary sculpture park.

The stunning coastline walk (newly repaired following storm damage) includes artists from Asia, Europe, New Zealand, South America, UK and the USA.

This year, the lead sponsor, Aqualand, will present the $60,000 Aqualand Sculpture Award to an exhibiting artist at the media launch on the opening day of the exhibition. The winning sculpture will be placed for permanent public enjoyment in Sydney.

A series of Artist Talks will also be hosted every weekend between 11am – 3pm, featuring both local and international exhibiting artists.

Coinciding with this year’s exhibition is the inaugural Sydney Sculpture Conference, presented in partnership with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in England. It will take place at Sydney Opera House on Thursday 27 October, 2016. with leading international and Australian speakers in this field discussing the importance, impact, challenges and opportunities of sculpture in public space.

Joining the 20th year celebrations,  20 Australian artists, who have previously exhibited have been invited to exhibit this year. These artists from across Australia represent the strength of the development of sculpture in Australia.
