Nourissh Founder Amanda Campbell Promotes Healthy Eating After Suffering MS

Her journey began after she discovered the role quality food played in her own recovery from a MS attack that left her paralysed in 2009.

Amanda, MS Ambassador and AWN Youth Ambassador for Health and Nutrition and an accredited Sports Kinesiologist, strongly believes that by eating the right food and working on our emotional well being, we are then giving our body the right environment it needs to repair and thrive. At her private practice called Bend Like Bamboo in Melbourne, Amanda and her team help others rebuild their lives from illness and stress.

What inspired you to launch Nourissh?

My passion is to help others, to be of service. When I was recovering I did not have the energy to always research, mentally navigate my way through stressful situations, let alone work. Bend Like Bamboo is a hub with a team of professionals that help you find the doors that you need to walk through, which is unique to everyone, to find balance again. Eating fresh wholefoods and giving my body the nutrients it needed to create new processes in my mind and body was half of the pie in my recovery. That is how Nourissh was born, to make eating better delicious and convenient. Because when you eat better you feel better.

What’s the hardest skill you have learnt and or developed about yourself?

Kinesiology took a few years to master. Coming from the fashion business world and music prior to that, learning anatomy, physiology and TCM was a new language for me. It has been one of the greatest gifts I have found in my lifetime.

What’s one thing you love about what you do?

To be of service is so rewarding. When you are healing and helping others find their light you are finding yours at the same time.

Why do you think gender diversification is important in the workplace?

Woman and men are wired differently, and we need to nurture their needs accordingly.

What does an average day look like?

Yoga or walk the dogs, a meditation. Set intentions for the day.

Meet with my team at Nourissh. Meetings back-to-back, emails, eat Nourissh, stop and reflect and reorganise my enegy.

Home with my beloved and dinner together with the furbabies. Bed early.

Where is your favourite place to holiday?

Recently my partner and I went to his family holiday house on Fraser Island, private beach and stunning house on the water – definite favourite place.

If you weren’t doing this what would you be doing?

There are many avenue’s to accomplish my mission in life, I have learned.

It would be another way of inspiring people to believe in their value, to make a change if they are not happy and look after their health.

I loved inspiring people when I wrote music, fashion and now in health.

Why are you passionate about being involved in the Australian Women’s Network?
