1. Is Ricky excited about hosting his fourth Golden Globe Awards? This is what he posted to his Twitter account this morning:

“Better get dressed and offend some humourless c*** I suppose.”

2. He was no more tame at his first time hosting in 2010. Opening the show with this one-liner:

“Looking at all the wonderful faces here today reminds me of the great work that’s been done this year… by cosmetic surgeons,”.

3. Even Hollywood royalty Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt aren’t safe. Ricky poked fun at their multinational family at the 2010 awards.

“You could be in the third world and get a glimpse of a Hollywood star and it could make you feel a little bit better. You could be a little Asian child with no possessions and no money. But you could see a picture of Angelina Jolie and you’d think, ‘Mummy!’”

3. Charlie Sheen’s alcohol and substance abuse controversy was a hot topic for Ricky in 2011.

“It’s going to be a night of partying and heavy drinking – or as Charlie Sheen calls it: breakfast.”

4. Ricky carefully alluded to the ongoing questioning of Tom Cruise’s sexuality without subjecting himself to a defamation suit.

“Also not nominated, I Love You Phillip Morris. Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor, two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay. So the complete opposite of some famous Scientologists, then. My lawyers helped with that joke.”

5.  Hugh Hefner was easy prey for Ricky when he tied the knot with a woman 60 years his junior.

“Talking of the walking dead, congratulations to Hugh Hefner, who is getting married at age 84 to 24-year-old beauty Crystal Harris. When asked why she was marrying him, she said, ‘He lied about his age. He told me he was 94’. Just don’t look at it when you touch it.”

6. He put the significance of the awards ceremony into perspective through this cheeky comparison:

“For any of you who don’t know, the Golden Globes are just like the Oscars, but without all that esteem. The Golden Globes are to the Oscars what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton. A bit louder, a bit trashier, a bit drunker, and more easily bought. Allegedly. Nothing’s been proved.”

7. Ricky attacked the corruption of the film industry when talking about how Melissa McCarthy came to fame in Bridesmaids:

“She made her mark in comedy this summer by defecating into a sink. Amazingly, that’s still less demeaning than what most of you have done to make it in show business.”

8. Not many people would have had the guts to go after Mel Gibson, except Ricky.

“I like a drink as much as the next man, unless the next man is Mel Gibson.”

9. Ricky went on to bite the hand that fed him challenging the legitimacy of the voting process:

“This ridiculous rumour going around that the only reason The Tourist was nominated is so that the Hollywood Foreign Press can hang out with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. That is rubbish. They also accepted bribes.”
