The Babadook, directed by Jennifer Kent, scooped up three awards, including Best Film, Best Direction, and Best Original Screenplay.

Aussie favourite Rose Byrne also scored the AACTA Trailblazer Award.

Long gowns seemed to be all the craze on the red carpet, with several of them having high thigh splits. Anna Bamford stunned the crowd in a white racy floor-length version, while Natalie Bassingthwaighte picked hers in a dramatic shimmery gold colour.

Outstanding beauty looks included Rose Byrnes’ cropped locks, Anna Bamford’s standout red lips and Samantha Jade’s dark smokey eyes.
