Sydney Fresh Awards

When most people think of red carpets, the Academy Awards are probably the first thing that comes to mind. However, closer to home, the 2024 Fresh Awards are rolling out theirs! Sure, there may be less makeup and fancy frocks, but this celebration certainly makes up for it by spotlighting the best of the best in the fresh produce and flower industry across NSW and the ACT.

The Oscars, The Emmys, The, err, 2024 Fresh Awards?

Hosted by Sydney Markets, the 2024 Fresh Awards are an acknowledgement of an often underappreciated world of excellence and dedication. An industry that is less about bright lights and shining stars. And, more about honouring the achievements of businesses that truly impact the every day Aussies. With 89 finalists across 22 award categories (ranging from greengrocers to florists) the competition is fierce. But, so too is the sense of camaraderie and celebration.

… And the award goes too …

Sydney Markets is home to the Sydney Produce Market, Sydney Flower Market, Sydney Growers Market and Paddy’s Markets. And, thousands of local and interstate growers. More than 2000 businesses call the Sydney Markets home. With vendors selling fresh fruit, vegetables and cut flowers to florists, fruit retailers and consumers.

Attendees will celebrate the culmination of the awards at the highly anticipated Fresh Awards gala dinner, scheduled to take place on Friday, July 12th, at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.

And, as CEO of Sydney Markets Brad Latham knows only too well, the competition is always strong and so is the camaraderie at what has become known as the Oscars of the food industry.

“Every year, the enthusiasm and commitment shown by our Markets community thrill me, showcasing unwavering dedication to quality and excellence in all sectors. The finalists for this year are truly outstanding, and I eagerly anticipate celebrating with the multitude of businesses that contribute to Sydney Markets’ exceptional reputation.” he said.
