Who wore what is the question on everybody’s lips as we see our bold and beautiful celebs make their rendezvous down the red carpet at this year’s Oscars. Fabulous fashion is brought to life at this event and so we have chosen the pick of the bunch from this year’s 2020 Academy Awards for you to both love and laugh at.

The Beautiful

Lily Aldridge in Ralph Lauren

Oscars, beauty, Lily

Aldridge is this year’s Belle of the Ball with her sweeping and silky Ralph Lauren Gown. The snowy gown sits elegantly on her slim figure, and its classic white colour is contrasted with the vibrance of the red rose, which adds a subtle and yet daring contrast. Her lips are extenuated with a luscious red colour which perfectly ties in with the bold red of the gown’s rose, making for an all-round elegant fashion statement.

Scarlett Johansson in Oscar de la Renta

Oscars, Beauty, Scarlet

The sexy Scarlet’s Oscar de la Renta dress fits the definition of glamorous with its silver draped bodice and flowing train. The strapless style with the combination of an up-do twist bun shows off her collar bones and femininity to the max! With the touch of her Diamond Drop Forevermark earrings, she appear a silver princess and is a personal favourite of mine in this years 2020 Oscars.

Brie Larson in Celine

beauty, oscars,

Not only a shining star in acting but Brie Larson also dresses as a star with her 13,000 Swarovski crystal created dress. The pastel pink glitter dress is paired with a floor length cape that she pulls off better than most heroes. The high leg spilt and deep v neckline give a hint of sexiness. She has accessorised the look with Bvlgari Divas’ Dream High Jewellery earrings in white gold and diamonds, two Serpenti rings in pink gold and diamond, and a matching bracelet for an all round sparkling style.

The Bold

Billie Eilish in Chanel

Billie Eilish plays by nobody’s rules and has redefined Red Carpet Attire with her unique tweed Chanel suit. In a Calvin Klein ad from may, she explained, “That’s why I wear baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath. Nobody can be like, ‘she’s slim-thick,’ ‘she’s not slim-thick,’ ‘she’s got a flat ass,’ ‘she’s got a fat ass.’ No one can say any of that because they don’t know.” With her roots dyed fluorescent green, and gangly black nails, Billie Eilish truly is one of the most unique styles of this years 2020 Oscars.

Kristen Wigs Valentino Haute Couture Gown

oscars, beauty , comedian

Kristen Wigs unusual fashion taste is arguably the most controversial style in this years 2020 Oscars. Whilst this daring lobster dress is definitely not everybody’s taste, there is a sense of admiration for how unique and bold Kristen Wigs preference is, as she combines her comedic persona and flare for high fashion.

Sandy Powell’s Charity Cream Suit

oscars, suit, sandy powell

The Irishman costume designer Sandy Powell uses fashion as a cause as her white suit signed by “almost” all the Oscar nominees will be auctioned off to save Prospect Cottage, the former home of filmmaker Derek Jarman, who lost his life to AIDS in 1994. “It’s not just important as a piece of history, but also to preserve his legacy,” Powell told The Guardian.  Whilst not physically the most eye-catching style, the depth behind the style betrays a bold statement for Oscar fashion.
