The world’s fastest growing virtual professional development program Women Rising is conducting a research project which is set to be the most revealing look at Women’s professional lives and wellbeing in the last decade.

Women Rising are embarking on a major research project to understand what women are thinking and feeling about their career and life in 2023. Existing research reports that have investigated the state of women in the workplace hold value, but they are mostly done from the organisation’s perspective, and not from individual women.

Recent studies show that more than 50% of women want to leave their employer in the next 2 years (Deloitte – Women @ Work 2022: A Global Outlook). We also see that female leaders are switching jobs at the highest rate we’ve ever seen (Lean In: Women In The Workplace 2022) and 46% of women are feeling burned out (Deloitte – Women @ Work 2022: A Global Outlook). We need to know now, more than ever before, what is really happening for women in their careers and lives in 2023, what the driving forces are behind these alarming statistics and how we can best support them.

We also know that 59% of women have experienced microaggressions and/or harassment at work in the past 12 months, but 93% of them don’t report these behaviours because they don’t believe their employer will take action (Deloitte – Women @ Work 2022: A Global Outlook). What else are they not saying and what impact is it having on their professional lives and more importantly, their personal wellbeing?

In this post-pandemic world, the progress towards reaching gender parity has not only stopped, in many cases it’s reversed. In 2020 we were 100 years from closing the gender pay gap, now we are 135.6 years away (World Economic Forum). It’s time to get to the truth of women’s lived experiences at work and at home so we can stop going backwards and start making real inroads.

Led by global women’s leadership expert and Women Rising Founder and CEO Megan Dalla-Camina, the Women Rising research asks women to reflect on a series of questions about their career wellbeing, burnout, gender bias, authenticity, leadership, confidence, resilience and more. It intends to be one of the most relevant surveys about women’s careers and lives in the last decade.

Women Rising are asking all women to have their say:
