There’s something especially cinematic about waking up in Antibes – the sea sparkling just below my balcony, the hush of waves lapping against the shore and the soft elegance of a hotel steeped in old world charm. While the buzz of Cannes swirls just down the coast, my stay at Hotel Belles Rives has offered me the perfect escape: peaceful, poised, and undeniably, luxurious.
From buttery croissants to sea-breeze spa moments. Here’s a glimpse inside this hidden gem that feels more like a glamorous secret than a hotel.

From the moment we pulled up outside, I was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. The fluttering flags lining the entrance set the tone – a grand yet welcoming arrival for this first-time guest.
A few personal touches stood out the moment I stepped into the lobby. It was a blend of eclectic minimalism, striking artworks curated with restraint but full of character.
My very first experience set the tone: I was seated right by the water’s edge, handed a crisp French rosé, and served delicate bite-size amuse-bouches that were almost too pretty to eat.
Upstairs my room felt like a spread straight out of Veranda magazine-soothing, elevated and utterly charming. A hand painted elephant mural added a whimsical touch, making me feel both happy and at ease. The furniture upholstered in Missoni velvet fabric, perfectly complemented the serene pallet of the space. But the biggest surprise? My balcony, with sweeping views of the Cote d’Azur, it instantly brought to mind A Room With a View – the kind of place you expect Helen Bonham Carter and Julian Sands to step into frame.

The Beauty Corner at Belles Rives -A Luxurious Hideaway by the Sea
Tucked discreetly within the elegant hotel Belles Rives, The aptly named Beauty Corner is more than a spa. It’s a private cocoon of calm beloved by loyal guest and A-Listers alike. During the buzz of the Cannes Film Festival, it becomes a refuge for celebrities who want to recharge in complete anonymity. Using the exclusive Valmont range a prestigious family run Swiss skincare house, the treatments here reflect the refined personal touch that defines both the brand and the hotel itself.
Spa director, Julie describes the experience as “elegant, luxurious and perfectly intimate” and she’s right. One of their signature offerings, The Tailor-Made Facial Ritual, begins with a double cleanse, followed by a de-puffing lymphatic massage and finishes with a collagen-rich firming mask. There’s also a dedicated men’s version that’s in high demand during the festival season. For body treatments, the standout is the Rituel Minceur (slimming ritual) which left me feeling lighter, energized, and glowing, just in time for my first Cannes interview.

Dining at Belles Rives: A Feast for the Senses
Dining at Hotel Belles Rives is a new experience for me, with not one but three distinct venues that each offer something special. The Michelin star La Passagere restaurant delivers a refined, seasonal set menu that celebrates the best of the Riviera – My very favorite menu being the Green Light which has the standout dish of asparagus with hazelnuts and capers flowers.
The newly renovated Bar Fitzgerald, aptly named after resident F Scott Fitzgerald feels like stepping into a 1930s film set. I’m almost ready to see F Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda holding court at one of the many art deco settings. The Rose’s and signature cocktails are a unique, unforgettable experience. And for lunch by the sea, The Terrace restaurant is hard to beat making it a picture-perfect Riviera afternoon.

Belles Rives Beach Club in Water sports
While I was in full Cannes mode this visit; I only caught a glimpse of the glamour that unfolded daily at the Belles Rives Beach club. Think blue chic umbrellas, white-linen lounging, and the kind of Riviera glamour that calls for a rose in hand and zero commitments. From waterskiing with the hotels dedicated Water Ski Butler to yacht charters the lineup is irresistible – though I didn’t have time to indulge. (Journalist duties called!), you’ll definitely want to!
As my time at Hotel Belles Rives ended, I found myself already dreaming of coming back. From the spectacular views and calming spa rituals to the elegant dining and timeless charm, every detail made this stay one to remember. This may just be my new go-to holiday destination – a place where glamour and tranquility live side-by-side and where the Riviera feels like your own private retreat.
