As I’m longing for my next trip to the coast, I was thinking about purchasing a new weekender bag to use. Now that travel is back on the cards for everyone. Is it time to dust off your suitcases and luxe up your luggage? Here’s my shortlist:

Airport Tag is a fun online shop filled with products for anyone who loves travelling and aviation. You can buy gifts with different themes like airport codes and airline codes. There are gifts for pilots and flight attendants and travel-inspired.

You can buy brightly coloured packing bags that are suitable for anyone who likes to organise by colour coding. I’m lusting after the hot pink lunch bag which says “do I look like I fly economy?” and the flight message board with letters. Best-selling items include a fully customizable flight message board, boarding pass mug, packing bags, sleep masks, coasters, and a mirror that looks like an aeroplane window.

Barrington Gifts specialise in bright modern patterned bags that you can add your monogram to. The Belmont cabin bag is tots preppy and comes in over 25 patterns. You can add matching everyday bags, luggage tags, passport holders, toiletry kits and more.

Streamline Luggage has luxe travel goods. Be tempted by the resort-ready, starlet and the Diplomat collections inspired by the 1920s. These timeless vintage-inspired luggage essentials are based in Dublin and New York.

Stitch and Hide have a lust-worthy Globe Weekender eco-certified leather bag. It is available in olive green, classic black, deep sea blue and oak brown. The minimal design is ideal for weekend breaks and destination holidays. A little more expensive but this will last for years.

Vooray has sports-style duffle bags with adjustable and durable shoulder straps. They are affordable and weather resistant. They currently come in white, black obsidian and terracotta. The bags have a separate shoe bag and a mesh interior zip pocket.

Western Bound has a beautiful range of bags made with double waxed canvas, Pendleton wool fabric, Latino leather and brushed cotton. The bags are inspired by the West and handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana.

Yeti has a range of colourful yet hard-wearing bags. They have a couple of duffle bags ranging in size from 40L to 100L. The Crossroads bag has structured walls and is suitable for road trips and overnight adventures. The Panga duffle is suitable for treks and camping as it’s waterproof.

And for the record, yes, I do fly economy.
