New girlfriend Katrina Vincent, 30, announced the break-up on her Instagram account in a post that features a photo of her two-year-old daughter Ava.
“OK so for all of you who have been asking … Michael and I are no longer together. He ended up deciding he doesn’t want to date a person with a child,” she writes.
“I am embarrassed and humiliated, I wish I didn’t trust him so easily. Oh well you always learn from your mistakes.”
The scorned beautician follows that announcement up with another jab the next day that left no doubt as to her feelings about the 34-year-old former soccer star.
“The best revenge is always to just happily move on and let karma do the rest,” the photo reads.”
After initially switching his Instagram to private, Michael volleyed back with the below post alongside a photo of himself seated at a café wearing sunglasses.
“Sometimes it’s best to stay silent as words don’t do your private thoughts justice.”
Less than an hour later he had second thoughts about even sharing that much, and promptly deleted the post.
Many of Katrina’s followers, however, weren’t so unsure about where they stood on the bust-up.
“You worked out what a lot of already knew; a word that starts with scum and ends in bag, haha good luck, you better off by far with your gorgeous daughter,” writes one, echoing the sentiment of dozens more.
Michael had earlier said to Woman’s Day that he was attracted to Katrina from the moment he first saw her Instagram account, even hinting that he might marry her.
“I would definitely say this is the first time I’ve felt like this about any girl,” said Michael, who was dumped by The Bachelorette Sam Frost at the final rose ceremony on the show.
“I knew literally from the first date that this girl is very, very special and there was no way I was going to let her go.”
Katrina told the magazine she was just as smitten after their first date.
“He’s just amazing. I’m a big believer in love at first sight — and I knew within minutes that we had something special.”
