Sharon Stone On Fillers, Surgery & Recovering From Her Stroke. Harper’s Bazaar interview. Find out her secrets on cosmetic enhancements.

Sharon Stone, who is actually a spokesperson for the brand Restylane, uses fillers, in part, as a corrective measure after a stroke in 2001 left her face damaged. She told Harper’s BAZAAR in an interview that she prefers fillers over plastic surgery to maintain her youthful looks. And, the series of black and white nudes in the mag in 2016 leaves absolutely no doubt that the Basic Instinct star is looking flawless.

Sporting a tasteful selection of accessories, like a black lace-up pair of Jimmy Choo’s, a serpentine Bulgari necklace and Tiffany & Co rings, Stone cuts a super-toned, youthful figure. She told Harper’s BAZAAR, “It’s so common now for people to use fillers, it’s almost like a beauty treatment. It’s like you have mascara and a filler. And it’s a far better alternative than having your face cut apart and ending up looking like you got sucked into a wind tunnel.”

Ever confident with her body, Stone posed for Playboy magazine in 1990 in a strategic move to re-carve a place for herself in the industry and prove that she could be sexy.

Two years later, she landed her iconic role as bisexual serial killer Catherine Trammel alongside Michael Douglas in the hit movie Basic Instinct.

Of this role, Stone told Harper’s BAZAAR that it was a calculated attempt to recast her image as a sex symbol saying, “Everybody said I wasn’t sexy and I couldn’t get jobs because of it.” And didn’t she prove them wrong? The scene in this video is one of the most regularly referred to film moments in history in so far as ‘sexiness’ goes and Stone regularly appears on ‘Most Sexy’ lists around the world.

But, things took a turn for Stone in 2001 after suffering a brain hemorrhage and the actress talked about her experience and the ongoing recovery with Harper’s BAZAAR. She told the magazine that after having felt unwell for three days and being admitted to emergency, doctors diagnosed a ruptures vertebral artery, which was then repaired with 22 platinum coils. This stroke had a huge impact on her life and the ensuing recovery was a long road. Stone recalled in the Harper’s BAZAAR interview; “It took two years for my body just to absorb all the internal bleeding I had. It almost feels like my entire DNA changed. My brain isn’t sitting where it used to, my body type changed, and even my food allergies are different.”

Stone was left without feeling in one of her legs for a long time and it took years for her vision to return to normal after the episode. But, Stone told Harper’s BAZAAR that the whole ordeal actually left her ‘more emotionally intelligent’ saying; “I chose to work very hard to open up other parts of my mind. Now I’m stronger. And I can be abrasively direct. That scares people, but I think that’s not my problem. It’s like, I have brain damage; you’ll just have to deal with it”.

While working on getting her health back in shape, her marriage to second husband, journalist Phil Bronstein, broke down and she lost custody of their son Roan to Bronstein during that ordeal.

Earlier this year, Stone was announced to front a campaign for Restylane fillers and skin booster anti-wrinkle treatments and has said of the partnership, “I am excited about Galderma’s new and innovative aesthetic techniques to create natural-looking results. I am looking forward to working with the company to make aesthetic treatments more accepted. It is inspiring when science meets beauty in such an effective way and I’m sure people will be impressed with the natural looking results of Restylane fillers and Restylane Skinboosters.”

While those razor sharp cheekbones don’t appear to have aged a day, her seemingly flawless blody, Stone claims, isn’t due to grueling workouts. She once famously told E! News “I haven’t worked out in a couple of months just because I didn’t feel like it.”

As a mother to three adopted sons, no doubt Stone gets the run around being a mum to keep fit and toned.
