This project is all about star power as Margaret Zhang, Julian Schnabel, Cara Delevingne, Bruce Weber, Sienna Miller, Vivienne Westwood and more take part in an unprecedented philanthropic public art trail.
Prestige skincare brand La Mer and Project 0 join together to take over New York City with 50 Wave Sculptures spanning across all boroughs, timed to coincide with the United Nation’s World Oceans Day on June 8, 2017.
The Wave Walk aims to raise awareness and funding for ocean conservation projects around the world. A journey that celebrates the ocean, art and New York City, Project 0 brought together 50 of the world’s most influential artists and culture-makers to help support Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
Installations will be unveiled at iconic New York City locations. Free and open to the public May 20 – June 21, the La Mer Wave Walk aims to connect the public with the ocean to understand the need to protect the “Blue Heart” of our planet.
Each wave will be available for purchase online via Paddle8 May 20 – June 23, culminating with a live auction at Sotheby’s on June 21. One hundred percent of net proceeds from the auction will benefit the La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund for Project 0 to help support restoring and protecting MPAs around the world.
