You won’t want to board without them…

The Hydrating Mist

Grown Alchemist Hydra-Mist+ Desert Lime & Amino-Peptide, $29.95

hydra mist travel must haves

Hone in on your high-altitude regime with a hydrating, herbal mist. There is no better way to freshen up during and after a flight with a spritz of refreshing, skin-loving haze. This one is packed with potent peptides, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants to visibly hydrate, soften, smooth and soothe. Plus the earthy scents of desert lime and kelp extracts provide anti-aging flavonoids and antioxidants to provide lasting hydration for that long-haul stint.

The Cover-Up

White + Warren Striped Cashmere Travel Wrap, $298

cashmere wrap

A chic answer to a daggy (and God forbid dirty) aeroplane blanket – one should always be equipped with some kind of cover-up. Cashmere is de rigueur for plane dressing; natural, breathable and oh-so cosy – even for those of us crammed up the back.

The Oversized Shirt

M.i.h Jeans The Oversized Shirt, $246

mih shirt travel

The ultimate throw-on, an oversized shirt is both on-trend and won’t compromise comfort. The perfect lay about item for high-altitude pursuits, opt for a natural, cotton poplin that looks just as chic layered.

The Lip Balm

Dermalogica Lip Renewal Complex, $39

dermalogica lip travel

Lips are one of the first things to crack under the pressure – literally crack in the air-cabin pressure – and you’re left with flaky, chapped lips. Opt for a moisturising lip treatment like this Dermalogica one, laden in avocado oil, shea and cocoa seed butters, plus a patented polypeptide which restores delicate tissue – so your pout with be plump whilst soaring amongst the clouds.

The Eye Mask

The Goodnight Co. Silk Eye Mask, $39.95

eye mask travel

Trying to get some shut-eye whilst 40,000 feet up can be difficult even if you’re Sleeping Beauty. But the best way is to block out the disruptions and place an eye mask over your peepers. Opt for a mulberry silk variety, they are not only divinely delicate (for the most delicate area of your face) but retain natural moisture and won’t absorb any creams or makeup – so you wake up wide-eyed sans the panda glare.

The Dry Shampoo

Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo, $30

dry shampoo travel

Long-haul flights wreck hair havoc – and a dry shampoo is what we all desire most for post plane freshen-ups. It is perhaps the defining beauty item that can change your look from flat, chair-hair to I’m-fabulous – except that it gets binned at security, as does your fabulous hair. Enter a non-aerosol Dry Shampoo, like Aveda’s, which proves to be the ideal hair manner for flying. Simply puff the powder into a mist like haze to proscribe the plane-hair.

The Slip On

Witchery Susie Slipper, $139.95

witchery slipper travelTravel racks up some serious miles – and that’s just on your feet. There is no better way to slip your tootises in and out once on-board – the ease of a stylish slipper makes for perfect plane behaviour.

The Night Cream

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Overnight Cream, $180

night cream travel

The cabin can be most cruel on your skin, so forgo lighter day creams and slather on a rich night cream or even mask, and just let it sit and soak whilst you wobble away at your tray-table meal.

The Carry-On

See by Chloé Harriet Leather-trimmed Nubuck Tote, $536

chloe travel tote

Perhaps the most significant plane item; one must think practically when it comes to the carry-on. Big enough to house everything in, small enough to fit in the overhead, comfortable enough to carry on shoulders, stylish enough to, well, look good in. Opt for structured, but still soft and slouchy, with sturdy handles and secret zips aplenty.
