No one wants to buy counterfeit Ugg Boots. But how do you tell the knock-offs from the real deal? Well, Emma Crameri shows you how.

There’s nothing better than snuggling up on the couch with a rug, a warm dog and a pair of Ugg boots on. These winter shoes are super popular and there are plenty of knock-offs to be found.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of counterfeit Ugg boots online. Look out for social media messages and text messages that offer discounts too good to be true.

Here are some tips on how to spot a counterfeit or fake Ugg Boot.

  • UGG Classic product is made with Grade A twin-faced sheepskin (it is one piece)
  • Counterfeit outsoles are stiff and difficult to flex or bend – UGG boots bend with ease
  • Hang tags are not used on Classic products – if you see a hang tag, it’s a fake

“Counterfeiting remains a growing global problem – not only for companies but also consumers,” said Angel Martinez, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Deckers Outdoor Corporation. “Online or off, we want consumers to shop for UGG products with confidence. That’s why we remain committed to fighting this issue while continuing to raise awareness and educate consumers.”

Make sure you only buy from trusted online retailers: If you aren’t shopping our site or an authorized retailer, you are being fooled into buying fake product.

Why buy a Genuine Ugg Boot?

UGG sources sheepskin from sheep that were raised for food. The company has a strict animal welfare policy. It selects suppliers from Australia, United States, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Spain who meet ethical sourcing guidelines. They never use a sheep that is killed for its sheepskin alone. These sheep are not mulesed.

Please leave a comment and tell us about your Ugg boot collection and how you like to wear them.
