With proud mum Terri and little brother Bob, 11, watching in the Los Angeles audience, Bindi, 17, and partner Derek Hough were too slick again for nearest rivals Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and military hero Alek Skarlatos.

A tearful and overwhelmed Bindi again paid tribute to her beloved dad Steve who was her inspiration throughout the competition.
Just hours before the climax to the two-part DWTS finale she posted the last family photo taken before her Crocodile Hunter hero died in 2006.
“The last photo ever taken of us as a family,” Bindi wrote on Instagram.
“The day before I had to wave goodbye to my hero, without knowing it would be the last time.
“But Dad, I know you walk beside me always and your strength lives within me. I love you.”
Dance partner Derek knows better than anyone that Bindi had some outside to get her hands on the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.
“No joke, she could not dance, she really couldn’t,” said Derek.
“I was like, ‘okay, okay, take your khakis and let’s fold them in the draw.
“Now to see her evolve and be aware of her body and have this confidence and even her posture is different, it’s awesome.
“I knew Bindi and this dancer living inside of her that she just wanted to get out, but to see her like actually do it, to see her actually perform.
“That’s the thing, I’ll give her steps and I’ll give her the moves and she’s doing them and technique, and it’s working hard on that. But then something else happens and she does and it’s just all her.”
Bindi is expected to return to her home at Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Queensland for her brother Bob’s 12th birthday on December 1.
