When supermodel Cara Delevigne taunted her millions of Instagram followers with pictures of her hanging out in Bali, every one of them wondered what she was up to.
“I’m in Bali, where r u?” posted one follower while Cara kept up the deluge of postcard-perfect photos. Here she is dive bombing in the resort pool. Here she is at breakfast. Here she is with a cocktail. And snapping beautiful shots of the scenery to boot.
Well, now the secret is out. Cara was there to be shot for the new John Hardy campaign. A unique jewellery range which combines precious stones with sterling silver. It makes precious gems almost accessible for us mere mortals!
The John Hardy range was born out of Bali, and has their studio there, so it was a natural extension to shoot the campaign there too.
On choosing Cara to star in the shoot, John Hardy’s CEO Damien Dernoncourt said, “It was natural for us to bring Cara and the entire production team to Bali so they could experience and capture the soul of the brand and express it in iconic images. And if her Instagram shots are anything to go by, her irreverent spirit is in full swing!
“I can’t begin to describe how magical it was going to the John Hardy workshop,” Cara says, “I was able to see the artisans at work and see how happy they are. I want to live there. The craftsmanship and the pure love that goes into hand-making every piece is so real you can just feel it.”
