It’s the beauty ingredient that actually does what it claims to – make you GLOW. And once you try it, there’ll be no going back to the dull ol’ days. Here’s what you need to know about beauty-full Vitamin C …

We love a free-radical fighting beauty buy which pummels those pollutants and other nasties threatening fast aging. But we love them even more when they help with the production of collagen, giving a radiant, plumper and more youthful complexion. Q. How does Vitamin C benefit the skin?

A. “Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that neutralises free radicals preventing damage,” explains Kirsty. “It helps protect the skin from environmental stress and also stimulates the synthesis of collagen. It is a key ingredient for brightening the skin and helps to diminish pigmentation, whilst also being suitable for all skin types.”

Q. Do some forms of Vitamin C work better than others?

A. “Yes, L-ascorbic acid has been proven in multiple peer reviewed articles to be the most viable and active form of vitamin C specific to the skin. The Professional C Serum Range from Obagi uses L-Ascorbic acid with varying strengths to accommodate all skin types.”

Q. How do I use Vitamin C serum with my other skincare products?

A. “Always apply after your cleanser, and before your moisturiser and sunscreen. With any skincare regime, you should always layer your products by their consistency, applying the thinner serums first before building up to the thicker consistencies.”
