As the sun sets on Paris, the winning duo will make their way to the museum where they will be greeted by an art-historian, who will take them on a bespoke tour, like those previously given to Barack Obama, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

Once they have discovered the museum’s wonders, the duo will enjoy their Home for the night in the presence of some truly legendary hosts: they will toast the Mona Lisa with a cosy Renaissance inspired aperitif, while relaxing on a sumptuous Parisian lounge sofa, listening to the atmospheric sounds of French music on vinyl records.

Venus of Milo, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, will then “host” an extravagant feast in a pop up dining room. And lastly, guests will be treated to an intimate acoustic concert in Napoleon III’s lavish Apartments. At the end of this very special evening, the winners will retire to their bedroom under the Pyramid for what promises to be a masterpiece of a sleepover.

Sleep under the Louvres's Pyramid

The Carousel asked Sam McDonagh, Country Head of Airbnb ANZ to find out more.

Airbnb likes to create unique experiences. Tell us more.

At Airbnb, we’re always looking for unique experiences to offer our guests. The Night At series came about because we want to give travellers the opportunity to win the sleepover of their dreams. We’ve transformed a number of iconic spaces into homes for one night only, including a Night 9,000ft in the air, the Home of the Chicago Bulls, the Shark Aquarium, the Great Barrier Reef and more. We chose Le Louvre this time around to give passionate art-lovers a once in a lifetime experience that has never been done before.

Describe the experience as you see it

A VIP guide will take the lucky winner and their guest on an after-hours tour of the museum which has only previously been available to presidents and celebrities. You will hang out with the Mona Lisa, unwindings with an aperitif followed by dinner- created by a personal chef- with the Venus of Milo. As the evening unfolds, you will have the chance to relax and unwind in Napolean III’s opulent apartments during an intimate acoustic concert before you finally cosy up under the iconic Pyramid and drift off to sleep beneath the starry sky. The lucky winner and guest will wake up to a Parisian breakfast in bed. It truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

What are other initiatives being brought out by AirBnB

As the Night At series continues to be successful, giving travellers all over the world unbelievable opportunities, we’re always looking out for more iconic locations that we can transform into a Home for one night only.

Exclusive Airbnb Experiences

Airbnb’s partnership with the Louvre extends beyond the lucky winner of the contest and their guest; from May until the end of the year, a series of exceptional Experiences at the museum will be bookable on the Airbnb platform. These Experiences, the programming of which will be revealed in the coming weeks, will give everyone the opportunity to rediscover the most famous museum in the world from a totally new angle, with exclusive visits and intimate concerts.

How to participate ?

To enter, simply go to airbnb.com.au/louvre before April 12 at 23h59 (French time – GMT+1) and answer this question: why would you be the Mona Lisa’s perfect guest? One winner will be selected. All terms and conditions of the contest are available on airbnb.com.au/louvre.
