Friends star Courteney Cox has let her guard down with survival expert Bear Grylls and admitted she regrets having cosmetic procedures.

Although she’d never confirmed the speculation about her appearance before, the 52-year-old got candid with Bear while filming Running Wild with Bear Grylls in Ireland.

“There’s a pressure to maintain [your appearance] not just because of fame, but being a woman in this business,” says Courteney.

“Getting older is not the easiest thing, but I have learned lessons. I think I was trying to keep up with getting older and trying to chase that. It’s something you can’t keep up with.

“The more you relax with it and the less I try…sometimes you find yourself trying and then you look at a picture of yourself and you go ‘Oh God, I look horrible,'” she continued.

“I have done things that I regret, and luckily they’re things that dissolve and go away. So that’s good, because it’s not always been my best look. Now I have a new motto: Let it be.”

Although Courteney has learned to feel more comfortable in her fiftysomething skin, she still doesn’t love some of the comments she sees about herself on social media.

”I don’t feel burdened by it, but people can be mean on social media and the comments,” she said, adding with a laugh, “Now, if I ever want to feel really bad about myself I can just click on one of those Daily Mail comment sections.”

As they chatted on top of a mountain, Bear responded, “The natural you is amazing – and there’s light in your eyes.”

Courteney replied: “There’s certain parts about getting older that are fantastic, watching my daughter go through the game of life. [Coco] just turned 12 and I see so much of myself in her.

“I’m glad that I’ve been through it and learned enough now to help her go through things that…it’s hard.”

During Courteney’s appearance on the show, she not only opened up to Bear, but the duo embarked on a daring adventure.

The actress and Bear strapped themselves into harnesses and pulled themselves across a ravine on a wire.

In another scene they fished a dead sheep out of a bog, tried to cut it open for the meat, and found a carcass full of maggots instead.
