The Orange Is The New Black star has taken to Facebook with a stoic statement confirming her 20-month engagement to Phoebe, 27, has ended – her fourth since 2009.
“Phoebe remains very dear to my heart,” writes Ruby, 29, about the fashion designer, who is the granddaughter of author Roald Dahl.
“I will forever treasure our time together,” continues Ruby, who also co-hosted the MTV Awards in Europe this year.
“I’m a better person because of the time we shared.

“They say, ‘it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.’ I’m lucky to have had the chance to love her.”
Ruby is famously ‘gender-fluid’ and once said she attributes a lot of how she interprets her current identity to her relationship with Phoebe.
“For a long time, I wished I’d been born a boy. I didn’t know there were options like gender neutral or gender fluid.
“I later realised you could be a girl and dress like a guy…. As soon as I met Phoebe, I knew. She’s everything that I would want in somebody. She’s talented, she’s funny, and she also has this charitable, giving side.”
Other reports say the couple, who visited Australia together in November 2015 for the GQ Awards in Sydney, simply drifted apart because of work demands.
“After two wonderful years together, Ruby and I have decided to part ways,” Phoebe confirms in her statement.
“While we still love each other and support each other in every way, it is our mutual decision to part way.
“Our break is not the result of any media speculation, and we want nothing but the best for each other. Thank you for respecting our privacy in this very difficult time.”
E! News is reporting that split is “completely amicable” and they “wish each other the best”.
The couple famously announced their engagement in March, 2014, on Ruby’s Instagram account, with a picture of Ruby wearing a vial of Phoebe’s blood around her neck.
Unlucky in love Ruby was first engaged in 2009 to Australian model Lyndsey Anne McMillan, although their engagement only lasted a matter of months.
In early 2010, Rose became engaged again to (another Aussie model) Catherine McNeil, but the relationship also didn’t last.
The next year, she had a short-lived engagement once again, this time to fashion publicist Lia-Belle King.
