3 Makeup Trends To Watch In 2015

If there’s anyone that would know all about trends, it’s Emma Hogan, Cosmetics Buyer of Priceline. We spoke to her about the biggest products that will be flying off shelves this year, and other things to look out for.

Back To Base-ics

The “no makeup” makeup look is back bigger than ever this year, with so many foundation brands launching all-in-one products that promise to prime, smooth and conceal the skin with one application.

Shopping for a new foundation is hard – I’ll be the first to admit that! To make things easier, Priceline have launched an in-store foundation finder – it basically takes a photo of your (bare) skin, and comes up with multiple recommendations that you should try, including specific brands and shades.

“The foundation finder simplifies the selection process and provides a more accurate selection than solely by eye.” she continues. “It’s also based on scientific matches and not on preference of brand or promotions, so you really do get a perfect match.”

Face Sculpting

Contouring is also a big trend this year, with more and more people learning how to temporarily sculpt the face using light and dark shades.

“Contouring works back to the ‘no makeup’ makeup look,” says Hogan. “Lots of kits are flying out the door and there are a lot more products that are about to hit shelves – stay tuned.”

Eye Do

The winged eye look is still proving to be really popular this year, and it’s no surprise that every brand has one that differs in thickness and consistency.

“Thin and thick varieties are great to help achieve special looks,” says Hogan. “You can really get creative with an eyeliner pen.”
