Bearded beauties are everywhere – fact. Facial hair has well and truly infiltrated society and is no longer just the chosen accessory of your local barista or barman. No, no, even investment bankers and lawyers are sporting the well-groomed, trimmed and tidied beard.

There’s no escaping this Man-punzel trend so we’ve enlisted the well-oiled facial hair aficionado, The Groomed Man Co. (aka Melbourne’s Daniel Mahony) to give us the low-down on beard maintenance. Oh, and of course we’ve hand-picked our top bearded hotties for your viewing pleasure…SWOON.

  • In order to clean the beard, shampoo 1-2 times per week and condition tri-weekly. Too much shampooing of the beard will strip away natural oil and shine and rob you of your man essence.
  • After each wash, gently pat-dry the beard to avoid irritation and harsh split ends. Apply beard oil every other day to nourish and protect the hair follicles in all their glory.
  • To keep the beard looking like the boss it is, gently comb daily to undo knots and stimulate circulation.
  • When length gets in the way of that Friday night souvlaki, trim the beard with sharp barber scissors and remove any damaged hair. A comb can be used as a guide to help monitor length.
  • After you’ve consumed that delicious souvlaki, consider a diet rich in vitamins A, B3, B5, B6, B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Biotin – it will help promote hair growth for your facial do.

BEARD OIL BENEFITS

Beard Grooming Tips Groomed range

  • Beard oil is enriched with vitamins, micronutrients and fatty acids that improve beard/skin health and strengthen hair follicles.
  • Moisturises and restores the epidermis, ridding the beard of flakey skin and promoting ideal beard growth conditions.
  • Softens and treats dry/rough beards within 2 weeks.
  • Pure and botanical oils clean the beard and offer antibacterial properties.
  • Helps soothe the dreaded itch and reduce skin irritation and redness.

Beard Grooming Tips Daniel Founder

For Daniel Mahony, the founder of The Groomed Man Co., his story dates back to the Stone Age, when prehistoric man would maintain their beards using seashells, rocks and other ambiguous paraphernalia. Or, as reality might have it, 15 years ago when he started growing facial hair.

Whilst holidaying around the USA with a freshly grown beard, Daniel encountered a topical elixir which solved many problems associated with in-grown hairs, including itchiness, dryness and redness. Upon his return to Melbourne, Daniel realised there was a shortage of locally produced grooming products for bearded men and sought to fill the gap using his newly found knowledge of organic essential oils. Founded on the belief that every man should feel great about the products they use, The Groomed Man Co. is the only beard oil in Australia to use pure to botanical oils in their purest form.

Creating a brand that incorporates clever design and witty humour, The Groomed Man Co. is 100% Australian and donates 5% of total profits to local charities. To learn more about The Groomed Man Co., please visit: www.thegroomedmanco.com.
