Haakaa has unveiled its new Gen 2 Plus Silicone Breast Pump in Australia, introducing the next evolution of one of the brand’s most trusted breastfeeding essentials.

Designed for breastfeeding mothers who want the same reliable Haakaa suction with a more comfortable and supportive pumping experience, which delivers the simplicity and convenience the brand is known for.

The updated release introduces two key innovations: ComfortCARE™ flange technology and dual leak-resistant protection, designed to make milk expression easier, gentler and more practical for everyday parenting.

For many parents, breastfeeding and expressing are part of everyday life, whether at home, on the go or squeezed in between work commitments and family responsibilities. As feeding routines evolve, so too does the demand for products that offer comfort, flexibility and convenience without adding complexity.

The Gen 2 Plus has been developed with those needs firmly in mind.

One of the most significant upgrades is the introduction of ComfortCARE™ flange technology. Featuring upgraded ultra-soft silicone and raised ridges, the redesigned flange has been created to provide a gentler pumping experience, helping reduce tugging and friction on the skin.

Beyond comfort, the Gen 2 Plus introduces dual leak-resistant protection. Haakaa’s signature suction base helps keep the pump secure on flat surfaces, while the new SpillGUARD™ stopper sits firmly in place during pumping to help protect expressed milk from accidental spills without interrupting suction.

The patented SpillGUARD™ design allows milk to flow into the pump while helping prevent it from spilling out. Whether it’s an enthusiastic baby’s kick, a curious little hand or an accidental bump during feeding, the innovation helps save precious milk that may otherwise be lost.

Helping mothers feel more supported

For Haakaa founder ShuTing Zhang, the innovation reflects a simple goal: helping mothers feel more supported throughout their feeding journey.

“No two breastfeeding journeys look the same. The Gen 2 Plus was designed with that in mind, focusing on comfort to better support all mums every step of the way” she says.

“It’s the quiet workhorse helping make breastfeeding more simple, accessible and achievable for families everywhere,” says Courney Garland, NICU Nurse Lactation Consultant.

Like previous Haakaa pumps, the Gen 2 Plus uses continuous natural suction to effortlessly draw out milk without batteries, cords or noise. It can also be used without suction to passively collect milk from the opposite breast during let-down while feeding, helping mothers save what many affectionately call “liquid gold”.

Quiet milk collection has long been one of the reasons parents gravitate towards silicone breast pumps. Whether it’s a late-night feed, a busy workday or simply a moment of calm at home, the Gen 2 Plus is designed to fit seamlessly into modern family life.

The lightweight and compact design makes it easy to pack, wear and carry, while practical features such as clear moulded measurement markings allow parents to easily track milk volume. A long pour spout helps make transferring milk cleaner and easier, reducing waste and spills.

Available in both 100ml and 150ml sizes, the pump is made from 100 per cent food-grade silicone that is soft, flexible and comfortable to use. It is BPA, PVC and phthalate free and safe for use in the fridge, dishwasher, microwave, steriliser and boiling water, making cleaning and storage simple for busy families.

As conversations around maternal wellbeing continue to evolve, so too does the demand for products that genuinely support mothers in practical ways. While there is no single right way to breastfeed or express, finding tools that work with your lifestyle rather than against it can make all the difference.

Founded in New Zealand, Haakaa creates practical, eco-conscious breastfeeding and baby products designed to support modern parents with thoughtful, functional solutions. Haakaa products are trusted by families around the world for fitting seamlessly into everyday life.

The Haakaa Gen 2 Plus Silicone Breast Pump is now available in Australia. The 100ml model retails for $32.99 AUD, while the 150ml model is available for $36.99 AUD. The SpillGUARD™ stopper is also available separately for $16.99 AUD and is compatible with previous Haakaa silicone manual breast pump models.
