Having trouble with Acne or you have those spots that just wont go away? We have found some products that are easy to use and can keep your skin glowing and healthy.

Prevent pimples

Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid which helps dissolve excess oil produced in your skins’ pores and oil glands. Acne is often caused by excess amount of hormone ( androgens) that enhances amount of oil which cannot move easily out of the skin pores. This environment then can become home to a bacteria known as P. Acnes. Salicylic acid works magic by gently breaking apart the skin cells which hold the excess oil, unblocking pores and dissolving excess oil so acne bacteria will go away.

Benzoyl Peroxide

Benzoyl Peroxide comes in a variety of different products such as gels, creams or washes and works by directly killing bacteria that cause acne. It is important to use the right concentration of the product as to much can cause irritation to the skin. When used properly it can also be combined with salicylic acid to increase effectiveness of the product.

Tea tree oil is a natural oil found in the leaves of a native Australian plant Melaleuca alternifolia and can easily be bought in chemists. Similar to Benzoyl Peroxide, tea tree is antibacterial, and anti inflammatory, however it is less potent and better for milder cases of acne.

Retinol

Retinol in an intense treatment is called Roaccutane. It works by breaking dead skin cells by ungluing them which then allows the sebum oil to leave the skin and acne bacteria to be reduced. Roaccutane is prescription only and can leave the skin dry causing itchiness. However when properly used alongside moisturiser, it is often an effective tool to get rid of acne fast.

Moisturise Skin properly – Hyaluronic Acid

There are so many products out there to moisturise your skin, but it is super important to use moisturisers that don’t use synthetic fragrance or unnecessary oils. Everyone has different skin ranging between oily or dry skin, so it is important to find products that match your skin type. An easy place to start is hyaluronic acid, it is a clear substance that is naturally produced in the body but can be used in serums and creams to retain moisture in the skin. Water and oil do not work well so when your skin is properly moisturised it will help with preventing oily skin and pimples.
