It is hard to be a passionate fashionista when you are struggling to find money to buy the newest designer item. Some of those are truly unavailable for many people, and among them are many of those who follow the latest trends and work of their favorite designer religiously. If you are one of thosepeople, you will be happy to hear that there are some ways you haven’t heard about that can help save on designer clothing and accessories.

Cheaper collections

You maybe didn’t know that almost every designer and brand have other smaller brands, and they all belong to the same company. This means that you can purchase the items from your favorite designer for a lot less. Capsule collections are one example. They represent the best pieces from one designer and the pieces that are made for large consumption. Those are items that are produced in large quantities, and they may not have the same quality, but you will get clothing made by your favorite designer nonetheless.

Another way to do this is to pay attention if your favorite designer has a collaboration with a low-end retailer. If they do, you get the chance to find so many affordable pieces. If you don’t care that much about what the labels say, but just want the unique design of the brand, there are lower-cost brands that resemble famous designers, and in most cases, they look pretty good and similar to the original.

Track sales

The easiest way to get designer items is to track sales. Your best bet to get something on sale is at the end of the season, so make sure you try then. Also, get in the habit of buying summer clothing in the winter and vice versa, because they are cheaper that way. When buying off-season clothing, a good tip is to hit the stores a week or two before the actual sale begins because you will have a bigger choice, but still get clothes at a lower price. For some of the must-have accessories you want to have in your wardrobe, designer bags sales are the best option since they tend to be pretty expensive.

Other options are flash sales when a retailer offers a sale for a short period and only on specific items, but still, it is a good way to get something you have been eyeing. If you know the right people, you can find out if the brand has sample sales and visit those as well.

Try secondhand shopping and outlet shops

Second-hand shopping is a great way to get cheap wardrobe items by famous fashion brands. It’s the clothes that the previous owner for whatever reason didn’t want, so there is a good chance you will findsomething that has never been worn, in case you want something that is practically new. Many times, even these shops have further discounts, so even if it’s too expensive for you originally, you can wait for that. Just check the quality and make sure there aren’t any holes, tears or other types of damage, andkeep in mind that in most cases, they only have one of each piece. Another great way to get cheaper brand items is to find outlet shops which are usually on the outskirts of towns, but still worth the trip since you can find many affordable footwear, clothing, and accessories.

Renting or swap designer clothing and accessories

Although this is not a permanent solution, you can always rent a certain item if you need it for a special occasion. Proms, birthdays, or weddings, those are all occasions when we want to look our best, butsometimes we just don’t have enough money. Well, renting is one option that will work great, and youget clothing that’s ironed, clean, and looks brand new. It certainly costs way less, just make sure you return it on time and without any damage so you won’t have to pay any additional fees. Swapping is onemore great way to get your hands on designer pieces. You can do it either with friends or online whereyou can get clothing that someone else doesn’t wear, and offer yours in exchange.

Join mailing lists and use coupons

Many brands have websites where you can join their mailing lists and get notified about new collections, sales, or any opportunity to get a coupon or discount. There are even special offers just for the members of their club, so it is definitely worth being a part of it. If you get coupons, make sure to use them before they expire. They are a great way to save some money and still get quality, original pieces.

Designer clothing is definitely a luxury for many. But, luckily for all of us, there are ways to still own something from your favorite designers. Don’t be lazy to look for sales, other collections, and second- hand shops because you will be surprised at the great pieces you will find.
