How To Bag A Bargain Shopping At Outlet Stores

No doubt outlet stores offer bargains throughout the year but to take your savvy shopping to the next level start with a little preparation before you hit the stores.

As a professional shopaholic, I am often asked how I find the best bargains when I shop.  My secret?  I let the internet do the legwork for me and often start with research.

Outlet stores are generally a collection of fabulous brands.  Adairs, Sheridan, Esprit, David Lawrence, Laura Ashley, Oroton, Royal Doulton, Nike, Bendon, Simone Perele, Crabtree and Evelyn to name but a few.  This makes the research side of things simple.

Not sure where your local outlets stores are do a quick search here

Hit your keyboard before hitting the Outlet stores

Tip 1:  Check out your local outlet centre and register for their email newsletter, VIP Club and their Facebook page.  This will ensure you know of the events and additional discounts each week.  Often the centre will run additional shopping events like “further 25% off”.  Check out the range of brand stores at that location.  If you are like me, you will instantly identify your favourites.

Tip 2:  Once you know the brands you are particularly interested in, also register on their websites.  This will help with a comparison of pricing to ensure you are getting the best bargains in the sales.

Tip 3: Load the eBay app on your smart phone.  The search function on the eBay application has a barcode scanner and is a great way to check market price when you are in store and spot that fabulous item you have to have.

The best time to bag a bargain is at the end of season sales.  Traditional retailers purchase their range in seasons and generally clear at the end of each season as the next range is on its way in store.  This is when the really aggressive sales are at their best.  I like to purchase household items like bedding, towels, home wares, kitchen items and lingerie.  As an example I have just purchased gorgeous Sheridan towels for $10 each and bath sheets for $14.

Savvy Money Saving Tips for the Organised Shopper

Start your Christmas list now.  I love to start my Christmas shopping this time of year while the prices are great.  I even buy clearance Christmas decorations for 10% of their recommended retail price.  In eight to twelve weeks the pricing will start to climb ready for the Christmas buying season again.

Take advantage of the wonderful sales now and most importantly …enjoy your shopping.
