We live in a breathtakingly beautiful world which is filled with amazing natural wonders.

But sadly, a growing number of these attractions are in danger of disappearing for good.

So, if you don’t want to miss your chance to scuba dive at the Great Barrier Reef or have a romantic gondola ride along the Venetian canals, start packing your bags.

Dare to travel and witness these wonders of the world before it’s too late.

1. European Alps

It seems like skiing on high peaks of European Alps is going to become a thing of the past soon enough. Glaciers all over the world are melting due to global warming, and since the Alps are at a lower attitude than many other mountain ranges, they are more susceptible to melting. Temperatures in the region are increasing more than the global average, and some predictions state that the glaciers will completely disappear by 2050. So, if you are a ski enthusiast, book your holiday and visit the wonderful Alps as soon as possible.

2. Venice, Italy

Any true romantic will tell you that Venice is one of the most romantic cities in the world (or the most romantic city) thanks to its charming canals, an abundance of pigeons, and narrow streets. Sadly, the word is out that this lovely city is facing ruin. It’s long been known that Venice’s been sinking a couple of millimeters per year, but it appears that there had also been several increasingly severe floods in the past couple of years. With every passing year, Venice is deeper in water, and it’s approaching the Adriatic Sea. Rumor has it that Venice could become completely uninhabitable by the century’s end, so take the time to come and see it before it disappears under the water like Atlantis did.

3. The Great Barrier Reef, Australia

For all those in love with the ocean and its fragile beauty, the Great Barrier Reef is the place to visit. It’s devastating to hear repeated news of widespread corals bleaching, and it’s even worse that people have stopped paying attention to that. The reef might be dead within the next couple of years, and you should see it with your own eyes while it still ‘breathes’. There are plenty of intimate and affordable Port Douglas resorts that offer private and spacious accommodation to anyone who is looking for a chance to unwind and relax. It is conveniently close to the Great Barrier Reef so you can visit it, but at the same time, it’s far enough to keep you secluded if you need some peace, quiet, and privacy.

4. Machu Picchu, Peru

Ancient and powerful medieval Inca Empire had its home in Machu Picchu, and today the ancient location has become one of the hottest tourist destinations in the world. Those willing to explore the so-called ‘Lost City’ should hurry, because authorities pay no mind to the fact that it’s being ruined by urban encroachment. The city was rediscovered in 1911, and even though it’s been lost and well hidden at 2,430 meters above sea-level in a cloud forest high up in the Peruvian Andes, it’s still getting more and more damaged by erosion, landslides, and way more visitors than it can handle.
