Unapologetically Confident: Aussie Icon Katherine Langford Joins L’Oreal

Perth-born Golden Globe Nominee Katherine Langford broke onto screens in 2017 playing Hannah Baker in Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. She uses her thriving acting career to empower women to be “bold, confident and brave”.

Katherine is unstoppable, she was rejected from acting school after studying music and drama, now aged 24, she is famous for her inspiring lead roles of empowering women. After her huge Netflix success, she began connecting off-screen with her supporters, using her online reach to start conversations about confidence, gender equality and learning to love yourself.

L’Oreal welcomed her to join their team of international spokeswomen, in awe of her outspoken confidence and infectious positivity.

Navigating setbacks was not easy, she has opened up about her struggles with self-worth and hopes to use this partnership to spread her experiences and the campaign’s core message that everyone is worth it. She wholeheartedly believes this is the core of building confidence, “when you know you are worth it, you live life to the fullest”.

In 2019 she starred in the thrilling murder-mystery Knives Out alongside Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Chris Evans. She played Meg Thrombey, a college graduate in a family of eccentrics squabbling over the inheritance, forever trying to get her elitist relatives to care about social justice and climate change.

Her most recent starring role she plays Nimue in Netflix series Cursed released July 17th, 2020. A fantasy drama that reimagines the medieval King Arthur tale, where the sword chooses a Queen.

Following her own break-through, she has been dedicated to building up the women around her. In 2018 she took part in the #TIMESUP movement for rights and opportunities for women in television, movies and theatre.

A breath of fresh air, Katherine is a down-to-earth, self-starter. Her career is a testament to her resilience and strength. She reminds us that beauty is not an idea of perfection, it is not something to live up to, it is nurtured from within. Through this international campaign with L’Oreal she hopes to spread this message and inspire self-belief for youths worldwide.
