I admit that chunky glitter can look childish with moderate DIY vibes, but smaller flecks of shimmer can brighten your complexion in an instant, especially when you’re lacking sleep. Here’s our guide to wearing glitter… the adult version.
Sparkle And Shine: The Right Way To Wear Glitter
For Face
Subtlety is key here, folks.
“My favourite product to use is Revlon Skinlights in Bare,” says Revlon’s Makeup Director Melanie Burnicle. “Mix a drop of it with foundation for an all-over glow or use it on its own over cheekbones to make them stand out.”
“It looks great around this area but steer clear of areas with fine lines, as it’ll just draw attention to this flaw.” Try Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare, $29.95
For Eyes
There are endless possibilities when it comes to rocking glitter and shimmer on the eyes.
“I love working with shimmer and applying it from the lashline to socket line, and placing a really fine glitter over the shimmer,” Continues Burnicle. “For a sexy take, apply some on the inner corners of your eye too.”
“A really easy product to use is Revlon’s Eye Art Pen. Use them to paint straight onto your eyelids, and finish with your fingers to blend the product out.”
Contrasting colour combinations can really make your eyes pop. For example, try pink glitter to bring out blue eyes. Try Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art Lid + Line + Lash, $25.95
For Lips
Here’s a new way to wear the shiny stuff.
“For fuller-looking smackers, use a fine shimmer to highlight the cupid’s bow above your lip,” says Burnicle. “Or for a more relaxed day-time look, dust a shimmer bronzer over lips and then apply clear gloss to lock it in.” Try Revlon Highlighting Palette in Peach Glow, $26.95
