The Official Royal Christening

Testino – a well known celebrity photographer – beautifully immortalised the royal family and close relatives as they gathered for Princess Charlotte’s christening at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, UK on Sunday.

There were four official images from the day, the most touching of which was a more carefree image of William and Kate with their two children in the beautiful gardens of Sandringham House. Of course, the more traditional fully posed family portraits were among the Testino shots along with a mother and daughter image of Kate and Charlotte in the drawing room (with Kate looking lovingly at her baby girl) and another wistful black and white of Wills and George in the ground of Sandringham gardens.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace said “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their whole family had a wonderful day on Sunday and were delighted to share the special occasion with the thousands of people who came to Sandringham. They’re very happy to share these photographs and hope that everyone enjoys them as much as they do.”

Mario Testino’s Royal Affair:

Testino is one of the worlds most well-known and loved fashion and portrait photographers and has had a long standing love affair with Kensington Palace.
His 1997 cover of Vanity Fair is one of the most recognised images of Princess Diana – and were the last official images taken of her before her death that same year. The iconic image maker said of the infamous cover “Photographing Diana, Princess of Wales for Vanity Fair in 1997 was one of the most memorable days of my career”.

Testino was also charged with shooting the official engagement images of Kate and Wills back in 2010 which are now celebrated as iconic portraits of the royal lovebirds, along with Prince Charles and his two sons in a heart-warming portrait.
